if ever there were a week!!

confession: i am a news junky. i LOVE current events, politics, the ebb and flow of the world news, local news, and financial news. this past week was like being a kid in the candy store. between the royal wedding, the tornadoes in the south, the pope hub-bub, and now the latest with osma... i could have never left my couch. i did leave my couch, but only because my husband whisked me away on a romantical mini-vaca! while i enjoy keeping a pulse on the news, i DO NOT, obviously, enjoy watching people suffer. when i watch, i silently, or audibly, whisper prayers for those suffering, and prayers of thanksgiving for those whom have survived and conquered! i refuse to be uneducated and unaware of the world and the times that i live in.

anyway, back to the romantical get-a-way! if you are married, are close to getting married, even want to get married, remember this... YOU MUST INVEST IN EACH OTHER. even when you have four kids who are 7,5,3, and 2... you have to get the heck out of dodge and find each other. if you don't, you will lose each other and become strangers co-existing. i don't care if you are as poor as a dog, or rich as the queen. MAKE IT HAPPEN. even if it's out to grab coffee at mcdonald's.. or a walk around the block...please, please, please, make the sacrifices necessary to invest in the person whom you love. even if that love seems cold or expired. i love my kids. but when i had them i vowed to raise them and let them go. i will love them forever, i will be their mama forever... but when i married mark, i vowed to love him, cherish him, and be in constant relationship with him, until i die!! so nurturing my relationship with mark is FAR more important then nurturing my relationship with my kids. my kids will inevitably benefit from the strong marriage that they witness day to day. so get the heck off your computer and go plan a date for or with your loved one. it IS a matter of life or death..... the life or death of your marriage!
