dear men of the world!

dear men of the world,
if you have a mother, a mother-in-law, a wife that is a mother, a grandmother that is a mother, an aunt that is a mother, a sister that is a mother, a daughter that is a mother, a daughter in-law that is a mother, a niece that is a mother, a friend that is a mother, a co-worker that is a mother; it is FAR, FAR, FAR, better to OVER celebrate this up coming sunday, than to make the decision to do nothing, or sub-par nothings. i know, i know, you just don't get it. you don't want a big to-do on father's day, so why in the world would she want a big to-do on mother's day?! just trust me dear soul, of the male species, she wants a big to-do!
i know your indecision can be paralyzing at times, so this points you down the path of, "she'll be disappointed if i ________" again, she will not be disappointed if you DO something. plan something, show that you have thought ahead, and are prepared for the day. remember, it's this coming sunday, may 8th. whatever you do, don't wake up on sunday morning and ask her to plan the day. we plan everyday of our household, and for once would like someone else to plan the day.
flowers, a card, breakfast in bed, a lunch on the town, a walk to the park.. for the more experienced; maybe hire a babysitter and plan a date (i know, i know, this might be over the top :) but you can DO IT...
i know inquiring minds are wondering what am I doing for mother's day? well, i am 100% confident that my husband is planning something.. b/c i threatened him with all sorts of foul things if he didn't. i told him exactly what i wanted to do and told him to make it happen. :)! now, that is how you do it when you have been married nearly ten years. honestly though, mark does such a great job all year long celebrating me and i am excited to be with him, our kids, and our amazing friends.
i know you might feel like this after reading this blog post:
you can thank me at a later time. i have just saved you from hours of drama in your home! ~s
